Abstract

Polish-Egyptian excavations conducted for over two decades on the third terrace of the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari have led to the rediscovery of a group of tombs belonging to the Third Intermediate Period cemetery. Among the numerous finds, three miniature wax figurines were unearthed — the only such discovery in the temple to date. Despite their fragmentary state of preservation, it was possible to determine that these objects represent the Four Sons of Horus, which, combined with the archaeological context of the find, constitutes a valuable contribution to the study of this unique and rare category of figurines characteristic of burials from the Third Intermediate Period.
